Imagine if, one day, you found yourself looking at old newspapers, and saw a picture of your mother as a young woman, and yourself as a baby, with the following caption: "Andrea Brown changed her plan for an abortion after having a sonogram 16 months ago. She now has a 9-month-old daughter, Elora." Imagine if the article concluded, "Ms. Brown said she was trying to practice abstinence when she got pregnant and adds, 'In the future, I plan to remain practicing abstinence till I get married.' She looked at her daughter still playing on the floor and said with a laugh, 'I have a constant reminder of what can happen if I don't.'"
So now Elora Brown has to grow up knowing that she was very nearly aborted, and that her mother saw/sees her as a reason to practice abstinence. Life may not begin at conception, but Elora Brown is no twinkle in anyone's eye, but is a full-fledged human being, who may one day decide to Google herself.
