In astrophysics-for-poets, we're currently studying black holes. I picture a black hole as being something not that you couldn't get out of, but that you could only get out of if you got more than 50% of the answers right on your phy-sci homework, sort of an Oedipus-meets-the-Sphinx scenario, but with phy-sci. I suppose this says something about why I'm more on the poet than the astrophysicist end of things...But to be fair, these black holes do sound pretty cool--pulling in and obliterating all, even light, that's near them--and, with enough caffeine (black coffee?), I just might understand what they're made of (if, in fact, they're made of anything), hopefully in time for the final.
