I don't know anything about this new Supreme Court nominee, except that her photo on The New York Times homepage reminds me of a certain type of Florida senior citizen who smokes three packs a day and has that vaguely ureic smell of accreted cigarette.
...in any case, one can only hope for the sake of the nation's second-class citizens that both Roberts and Miers are not as bad as we all fear they might be.

I doubt that Miers and Roberts are in the same class, but she looks that way because of a common make-up mistake older women (i.e. over 30) make: using eyeliner under their eyes. Makes you look much older and more tired than you really are. She's 60. Would you say that about a 60 year old man?
