I can never show my face in this town again

Gothamist has posted my latest rant about the Park Slope Food Co-op, as one of their "Opinionist" pieces. It's been a while since I've plastered my dubious opinions all over my own neighborhood, but my new, Maureen Dowd-esque hair has inspired me. (Actually, upon further examination, it's more Angela Chase than Maureen Dowd.)

You are right to eschew the Dowd comparisons:

November 10, 2004 -- SEN. Zell Miller (D- Ga.) laced into New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd yesterday on the "Imus in the Morning" radio show, saying, "The more Maureen Loud [sic] gets on 'Meet the Press' and writes those columns, the redder these states get. I mean, they don't want some high brow hussy from New York City explaining to them that they're idiots and telling them that they're stupid." Miller also suggested "that red-headed woman at the New York Times" should not mock anyone's religion: "You can see horns just sprouting up through that Technicolor hair."

I really enjoyed your opinionist piece -- held my attention till the end -- despite the fact that co-op supermarkets, liberal fascists and Park Slope/Brooklyn/New York-in-general have no relevance to my life right now.
