I love that a commenter refers to the U.S. government's plan to promote cheese as "Reminiscent of the worst excesses of the French Revolution."

Actually, I think that's originally from Lady Bracknell in "The Importance of Being Earnest," when she's castigating the main character for being unsure of his familial origins. But I don't recall its having anything to do with cheese in that context.
