Steakation photos are up

Not in any particular order, though, so the curious will have to guess which photos were taken in Belgium, which in Paris.

  1. I see that rare means rare in Paris/Belgium. Quite right too. When I came to live in Buenos Aires (1999) it used to mean that too but there has been a gradual slide in the sematic field so now if I wanted a steak as rare as that I'd have to ask for the steer to be marched up to the table so I could take care of the butchering and cooking myself.

  2. The sashimi-ish steak is in Paris. After a week of near-raw meat, I've come to the conclusion that I prefer something on the rare side of medium-rare, rather than barely-touched-a-pan, but when the quality is this good...
