I do like spaetzle and strudel...

A fellow blogger has insinuated that I am the next Hitler. That's a mighty amusing accusation, one I'd just love to respond to, but my homework for tomorrow is something along these lines. When I'm done summarizing Proust (actually an explication de texte, and what with Vichy and all, perhaps I dig this hole that much deeper), maybe I'll write a post pointing out that I'm not all that much like Hitler, but maybe I won't bother because the whole thing's just too dumb. Proust, by the way... Jewish. Half, and not religiously, but what do you think Hitler's take would have been, eh?

Are you a vegetarian? If so, it might be a hole in your argument.

I think the comparison really is absurd. Your politics are far closer to Mussolini than Hitler.

What happened to me being the next Jabotinsky?

Very deep conversations of Docteurs ès sciences poliques.

Allons, Allons. Je ne connais pas tres bien la dite Phoebe, mais quand meme.

"Your politics are far closer to Mussolini than Hitler." Did you ever study anything about Mussolini... This statement reminds me of a scene from "Annie Hall" (from Woody Allen) where Marshall McLuhan appears. Un moment de cinema d'anthologie.

Marshall McLuhan just appears in the movie to tell a random guy, who was commenting McLuhan's films, that he did not know what he was talking about.

I just wish I could make Mussolini appear (like Allen did with McLuhan).

But what else could I say to a philistin hin?

Phoebe, my dear, I am sorry the next Jabotinsky is Bibi. Bibi is a great speaker and great politician but he is far from being as brilliant (in the sense of being extremly intelligent, cultured and intellectually and politically honest as Zeev.)

Well, Phoebe has posted about rushing around at a breakneck pace, so I figure she could make the trains run on time.

OK, but you do seem to like dogs. And since Hitler was a noted canineophile, I think that's definitely evidence that you may be a nascent Hitler-ite.

"What happened to me being the next Jabotinsky?"

Of course, your politics aren't that of Hitler, Mussolini, or Jabotinsky. You're much closer to Marty Peretz.

And as another commenter touches upon, Bibi is the Israeli ambassador to Marty Peretz-istan.
