Today's New York Times Magazine has an article that describes the work of Michael Heizer, a modern artist specializing in Earth Art or Land Art, in whose work I've taken a great interest over the past year.
The article includes the first pictures of Heizer's super-secret mega-work (think, one mile long) to be released in years, and describes his battle with federal authorities over a rail road that would lead to the Yucca Mountain Federal Nuclear Waste Depository.
To learn more after reading the article, see (slight plug here) my website about Michael Heizer, which is the largest in the world (much to the chagrin of Mr. Heizer's representatives).
