Glass half full of Chardonnay

My friend Kate pointed out that, while Kerry's water glass looked almost like a wine glass, with a stem, Bush's glass was short and cylindrical. Was this a subtle reminder that Kerry is supposed to be too "French" to be the U.S. president?
